Highest Cases of Dengue Fever Found in S. Jakarta

Dengue Fever (DBD) is still a serious threat for Jakartans. No wonder, there are 3,423 cases recorded throughout January-June 2015.

Year to year, Dengue Fever cases in South Jakarta is always high. Even, until this June reach 834 cases and becomes the highest in the city

Based on Jakarta Health Department record, the highest cases found in South Jakarta that is 834 cases. Followed with West Jakarta (810 cases), East Jakarta (765 cases), North Jakarta (617 cases) and Central Jakarta (318 cases).

Head of Jakarta Health Department Koesmedi Priharto stated, South Jakarta has the most citizens infected by the diseases.

"Year to year, Dengue Fever cases in South Jakarta is always high. Even, until this June reach 834 cases and becomes the highest in the city," he told, Tuesday (16/6).

The other phenomenon of dengue fever in this year that is attack the elite area in Jakarta such as Kelapa Gading which within 1,5 months becomes the highest Dengue Fever area in North Jakarta. "Kelapa Gading records the highest number. Its number reach 186 cases throughout April to May," he explained.

To prevent the spread of the diseases, Priharto claimed he is intensifying a socialization related to the diseases in such elite area by entering some residential, malls, school buildings, and private offices.

"The socialization is being intensified in Kelapa Gading by giving a counseling about the danger and prevention of Dengue Fever," he disclosed.
